I haven’t posted anything for a while, so I thought a couple sketches would do to hold me over until my next post.

NxLeveL Commercials
This is one of three commercials that we did for NxLeveL, and one of the three storyboards. I did the storyboarding for this project. Jacob Thorup compiled it into an animatic to get our timing right. I also had to remake the graphics for the company, and do new animations and other renderings. I also designed and created the the product fly ins at the end of each commercial. The final editing and compositing of the commercial was done by Jacob Thorup -

Another Character Animation
Here is another character animation with this new rig. I am planning on doing some more complicated stuff soon, and I think I a going to try texturing her as well.

Character Animation
I wanted to start building a character that I have been drawing for a while, over the weekend. I modeled it and then today I got a quick rig together with the riggify add-on for Blender and had some time to put together a really quick animation. I’ll texture it later perhaps.
Here it is! Enjoy! -

BLENDER 為甚麼不讓我打中文字呢?
實際上我不知道. 可是我找到別的方式會讓你做得到了. Another tutorial! Really quick one. I hope that someone finds it useful, I sure did. Its about bringing Chinese characters into Blender. Up to this point it is still impossible to type Chinese characters directly in the Blender interface. It is also not possible to copy and paste it into the interface.
Here is the back door…

Fun with Particles
During some down time with Thor Media LLC. I had the chance to study up on one of the many aspects of 3D that I haven’t gotten my hands in much at all, which is particles.
I saw a Linkin Park video that has some cool crashes of debris flying around and decided to learn how to do that in Blender.
And here is what I came up with
I am thinking about doing a tutorial for it eventually. It is pretty simple to setup and I am trying to figure out a way to automate it a little more so you can do as many explosions as you want at any given time without much effort.

Sparkles!
My brother, a while ago, showed me a commercial that had all these interesting sparkling particles in the background, and wanted me to figure out how to do that in Blender. And here is the result. This is a simple example but because you are using a particle system, the particles can be manipulated to go and move any way that you want. If you want to see a more in depth tutorial on how to manipulate particles a little bit more go ahead and ask. I just need a little encouragement.

Displacing Things in Blender
Been messing around with Blender trying to do crashes and impacts, and have found that using displacement maps makes easy work of such a task.
Here is a quick tutorial I did up for those who are interested.

The Alliance
My brothers and I were approached by an independent film maker to do the visual effects work for a short film called “The Alliance”. It is a small job that requires the creation of a hover jeep, and compositing, along with a bunch of other small effects. (muzzle flares, scifi blasts, etc..). I am responsible for the modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting and animation of the jeep. Jacob Thorup is responsible for the compositing and other post work. The original jeep concept was done by Eric Thorup.
