The Female Blacksmith

Wanted to do a value painting.  There was really no real thought put into this one, beforehand.  I just started doing a value sketch and this is what came out.
This was done with a hard, medium, round brush in Gimp.  The default round brush.  And it took about an hour until I decided to stop.

    the values look great in my opinion. I don’t like the pose however, or the hair. I wish I had some suggestions on how to improve upon the hair, but I don’t. it just looks like it’s all part of one mass rather than strands and such. the costume works well too. I enjoy how you are playing with cloth and folds.
